A Case Report of Facial Nerve Palsy in Herpes Zoster Oticus and Postherpetic Neuralgia by Acupuncture

Abstract
|
|
|
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of acupuncture on facial nerve palsy in Herpes Zoster Oticus and postherpetic neuralgia.
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted to observe the clinical manifestation of Herpes Zoster Oticus, and scoring the Visual Analog Scale and Yanagihara`s Score every five days.
Results: After treatment, Visual Analog Scale and Yanagihara`s Score were improved.
Conclusion: This study shows that the acupuncture is effective on facial nerve palsy in Herpes Zoster Oticus and postherpetic neuralgia.
